St Katherine Cree, City of London

Built 1628-31, a very rare period for church building. It is in a hybrid classical/gothic style.

St Lawrence Jewry, City of London

By Wren 1671-80, badly damaged in the war and restored by Cecil Brown 1954-57. The civic church for the City, it is much less hemmed in than most city churches as it is on the corner of Guildhall Square.

By Wren 1671-84 and one of the few Anglo Catholic churches in the city.

St Margaret Pattens, City of London

Wren 1684-87. The spire from 1698-1702. The eastern end of the north aisle and gallery are converted to offices.

St Mary Aldermary, City of London

A medieval church rebuilt by Wren after the Great Fire in 1679-82. During the week there is a very busy cafe at the west end.

St Mary at Hill, City of London

A domed church by Wren 1670-74 but severely damaged by fire in 1988. It has been restored but is somewhat empty of furnishings, though there are plans to raise the money to reinstate the reredos. It is currently used by a Lutheran congregation.

St Mary le Bow, City of London

By Wren 1670-80 and restored after war damage by Lawrence King 1956-64, with stained glass  by John Hayward. The crypt, partly converted to a restaurant is an eleventh century survival.
