St Thomas of Canterbury, Woodford Wells (Roman Catholic)

Very near All Saints anglican church, it dates from 1895-96 and was designed by A.J.C. Scoles

All Saints, Inmans Row, Woodford Wells

Dating from 1874 and designed by F.E.C. Streatfield. It sits very attractively at the north end of Woodford Green. A large extension called The Atrium has been built onto the north side connecting it to halls and other rooms.

St Barnabas, Snakes Lane East, Woodford

The church for the commercial centre of Woodford near the station. It was designed by Edwin T. Dunn in 1910-11 and the west end was added in 1963-64 by Laurence King.

 

St Anne Line, Grove Crescent, South Woodford (Roman Catholic)

A suburban church on the far side of the High Road from the main shopping area.By D.M. Blouett 1965-66.

St Cedd, Marston Road, Barkingside, IG5 0LZ

A small suburban hall/church dating from 1938 and fitting in well with the surrounding housing just off the Roding Valley. The architect is not known.

St John Vianney, Stoneleigh Road, Clayhall

Dating from 1966 by Donald Plaskett Marshall. Following consecration reordering by Austin Winkley in 1983 brought the main altar forward in front of a large wooden screen, the old chancel became a chapel facing an altar on the rear of that screen.

By Geoffrey Raymond 1927-28 with the aisles added in 1934 and 1940.

St Cedd, High Road, Goodmayes (Roman Catholic)

Originally a Methodist church of 1904 and looking like a large chapel, it became an RC church in 1966.
