St Nicholas, St Nicholas Way, Sutton

Sutton parish church but hidden away behind the shopping area, this is a church of 1862-64 by Edwin Nash.

Our Lady of the Rosary, St Barnabas Road, Sutton (Roman Catholic)

Originally a combined church and school of 1892 by Edward Ingress Bell, John Hawes added a new sanctuary in 1922 and a north aisle was added in 1932.

St Barnabas, St Barnabas Road, Sutton

In the “New Town” east of the town centre, this is a church of 1884-91 by Carpenter & Ingelow. The east window is late Morris & Co.

Holy Family, Sorrento Road, Sutton Green, Sutton (Roman Catholic)

A small church of 1988 designed and built by Stocks Buildings Ltd.

All Saints, All Saints Road, Benhilton

In a commanding hill-top position as you come north out of Sutton. It is by S.S. Teulon and dates from 1863-66. Most of the 19th-century glass was destroyed in WW2 and has been partly replaced by glass by John Hayward and Goddard & Gibbs. In the 1980s the church was struck by lightning, damaging some of the chancel and Lady Chapel but the damage has been restored invisibly.

St John the Baptist, Sheepcote Road, Greenhill, Harrow

Right in harrow town centre, the church was built in 1904 to designs by J.S. Alder, it was extended east in 1925 by Alder & Turrill, with the chancel by Martin Travers added in 1938.

All Saints, All Saints Road, South Wimbledon

Away from main roads. The church is by J.T.  Micklethwaite and Somers-Clarke and dates from 1891-93.

St Joseph, High Street, Colliers Wood (Roman Catholic)

A little way north of the tube station, a small church of 1966 by Conor Fahy.

Christ Church, Christchurch Road, Colliers Wood

A short way south of Colliers Wood tube station. It’s a church of 1875 by F. & H. Francis. The post war glass is by Miles & Rachel de Montmorency.

Emmanuel, Lyncroft Gardens, West Hampstead

At the north end of the shopping area, a large church by J.A. Thomas of Whitfield & Thomas. The chancel and 4 bays of the nave from 1897-98, the rest done in 1903.
