St Michael, Mark Street, Shoreditch
An early James Brooks church of 1863-65. It closed in 1964 and for a long time it was an architectural salvage store called Lassco, Westland & Company which shut in 2019. The lower set of images shows it in that use in 2011.After that closed it became an events venue which has now closed. The church forms part of a group with Sunday Schools (1870) and a clergy house (1867). That house is currently used as a showroom by interior design company House of Hackney and some interiors are in the 2026 set. The church was planned in 2022 to be converted into a shared office space called Vetus joined to a new office block called Novum but as of early 2026 there is little sign of anything happening.

St Barnabas, Homerton High Street
By Arthur Ashpitel 1845-1847, with the north aisle added in 1851. After WW2 damage, in 1944, it was rebuilt by William C. Lock with the chancel converted to ancillary rooms and reopened in 1958. The large paintings by Alfred Soord came from St Andrew, Bethnal Green, as were other furnishings now replaced. The WW1 memorial is carved into a nave pillar rather than a wall memorial. A full-height creche has been inserted into the southwest corner, but there are now plans to re-order the west end with a mezzanine and community facilities.

St Mark, Dalston
A huge low church building by Chester Cheston (1862-66) not far from Dalston Kingsland station. The interior is little altered and is a stunning example of the more evangelical end of Victorian church design. The tower, completed by E.L.Blackburne in 1877-80, uniquely features an outdoor barometer. At the crossing are two stained glass angel windows in the roof.
