St Luke, Front lane, Cranham

Constructed in 2002 and designed by John Marsh of MEB Partnership. It replaced a church of 1957 which is shown on a painting in the foyer. Photos from 2013 show the church seated, those from 2020 with the auditorium cleared.

Moor Lane Church, Cranham

A hall used as an outpost by St Luke, Cranham since 1983. The lower two pictures are from 2013 the upper two from 2020. As can be seen a new frontage has been added to the church.

St Peter, Cranham (Roman Catholic)

A 1960s hall used for Sunday mass and many other activities.

St Edward the Confessor, Park End Road. Romford (Roman Catholic)

Separated from the market place by the ring road, this church was built in 1856 by David Cubitt Nicholls.

St Agnes, Jutsums Lane, Romford

Built in 1928, a hall church which has not been used for services since January 2017.

St George, Kenilworth Gardens, Hornchurch

Built in 1931 as a hall/church with a slightly more ambitious chancel added later.

St John & St Matthew, South End Road, South Hornchurch

Built in 1957 and designed by Ronald Wylde Associates and reordered more recently to give a flexible use building. The sanctuary can now be placed against either a long or short wall depending upon requirements.

St Alban, Elm Park (Roman Catholic)

A suburban church by David Rodney Burles dating from 1959.

English Martyrs, Alma Avenue, Hornchurch (Roman Catholic)

A small suburban church of 1954-55 by David Rodney Burles. The stained glass is by Goddard and Gibbs and dates from 1981.

St Joseph, Champion Road, Upminster (Roman Catholic)

By the road to Hornchurch. It dates from 1939, designed by Marshall & Archard.
