Ascension, Collier Row Road, Collier Row

At one end of the town centre it was originally a mission church but is now a parish church. It is by Ernest C. Lee 1884.

Church of the Good Shepherd, Collier Row Lane, Collier Row

A very conservative looking church of 1934-35 by Newberry & Fowler. The chancel is now almost devoid of furnishings apart from the altar

St Mary Magdalene, North Ockenden

Still a small village away from suburbia. Medieval, restored by Richard Armstrong 1858. The interior features a chapel containing many memorials to the Poyntz family.

St Andrew, Romford

A backstreet church not too far west of the town centre. By John Johnson 1861-62. The east window was damaged by bombing so only the tracery lights are 19th century, the rest is from 1994 by Caroline Benyon.

St Edward the Confessor, Market Place, Romford

The town centre parish church is by John Johnson 1849-50 on the foundations of the medieval church. Several large monuments from that church are preserved within.  A very cared for interior featuring several modern stained glass windows at the west end.​

St Laurence, Upminster

A much altered medieval church, W.G. Bartleet rebuilt most apart from the tower in 1862-63. It was then extended eastwards by Sir Charles Nicholson in 1928.

St Nicholas, Woodcote Avenue, Elm Park

A suburban church near Elm Park station. By the, then, Chelmsford diocesan architect J.J. Crowe 1956.

St Mary and St Peter, Wennington Road, Wennington, RM13 9DX

A hamlet on the edge of the Essex marshes. The church has a 13th-century chancel and south aisle arcade, with the aisle itself being rebuilt by Ernest Geldart in the 19th century. The tower and north aisle are 14th-century.

St Helen and St Giles, Rainham

A mainly norman village church on the edge of built up Havering. Restored by Ernest Geldart 1897-1910.

St Mary Mother of God, Hornchurch (Roman Catholic)

Almost opposite Holy Cross Anglican church. By D.H. Burles 1931-33.
