St John the Baptist, New North Road, Hoxton

In a large , leafy churchyard, some of which produces commercial income for the church as a car park. The church is by Francis Edwards and dates from 1824-26. Most of the furnishings are 20th century, the remarkable ceiling being by J.A. Reeve and created 1902-14.

St Monica, Hoxton Square, Hoxton (Roman Catholic)

Attached to an Augustinian Priory. The church is by E.W.Pugin and dates from 1864-66, with a lady chapel added by John Young in 1880. The columns and vault are all of wood. The church is being restored and fragments of the original painted decoration have been uncovered.

St Leonard, Shoreditch

By George Dance the elder 1736-40, in the heart of Shoreditch.

St Augustine (former), Yorkton Street, Haggerston

Almost surrounded by other buildings (the west end by a hall and clergy house of 1926-27 by J. Harold Gibbons), except at the east end. This is the only London church by Henry Woodyer and dates from 1866-67. It was made redundant in 1983 and converted into a gallery 1994-98, but this usage appears to have ceased.

St Anne, Hoxton Street, Hoxton

Very near St Columba, it is a church of 1868-69 by Francis Chambers, the show fronts in ragstone, the rest in brick.

All Saints, Haggerston Road, Haggerston

Facing green space a church of 1855-56 by P.C. Hardwick, with the aisle rebuilt and extended by T.E. Knightley.

St Michael and All Angels, Lansdowne Drive, London Fields

A replacement for a nearby church which was destroyed in WW2. It is by N.F. Cachemaille-Day dating from 1959-60. The airy interior features wall paintings and stained glass of the apostles by John Hayward and clerestory stained glass by Goddard & Gibbs. The external sculpture of St Michael is also by John Hayward.

St Luke, Chatham Place, Hackney

Tucked away east of the centre of Hackney. It is a work by Newman and Billing of 1872-73 with the tower and spire added in 1882. The interior has been emptied of many fittings.

St Jude, Blurton Road, Clapton Park (Roman Catholic)

Originally a Methodist chapel built in 1885, it was purchased as a Roman catholic Church in 1965.

Built as a Catholic Apostolic Church in 1873 by John Drake.
