St John the Divine (Former), Mawney Road, Romford now Triumphant Chapel
North west of Romford town centre is the former parish church of St John. It was designed in a byzantine style by W.D. Caroe in 1927 but only the sanctuary was built, it was completed in 1932 by Herbert Passmore with a west wall by Laurence King in 1979. It was declared redundant in 2010 and was in the hands of The Redeemed Christian Church of God on my first visit in 2013. In January 2020 it is used by Triumphant Chapel/Christ Heritage Assembly based in Barking and the grounds are padlocked.

St Peter, Gubbins Lane, Harold Wood
By J.J. Crowe from 1938-39. However, it has recently been added to (2009-2010) creating a substantial evangelical church centre through which the church is now entered. The church was reordered some years ago giving it a stepped nave, but recent additions are two windows in the north transept. These are actually panels mounted inside the church about 6 inches in front of the window. The east window is traditional stained glass.

St John the Evangelist, North Road, Havering-atte-Bower
High up with views over Essex and London, by the village green. It dates from 1875-78 and was designed by Basil Champneys. It replaced a small medieval church which is illustrated inside and below. A number of memorials from that church, mostly early 19th century are reset in this building. Inside the chancel no longer has choir stalls
