Built as a Congregational Church in 1863, in 1939 it became St Luke Spiritualist church before purchase in 1950 by the Church of England. During the 1980s it was leased out to the New Testament Assembly before becoming redundant in 1996 and sold for conversion to housing in 1997. The architects were J Hine and T. Roger Smith

Looks like it was bought by the C of E to replace the St Paul’s in nearby Waldenham Road which was destroyed in 1943. My interest is that a brother-in-law of a great grandmother of mine who was killed in WW1 in late 1914, Jonathan Maxwell Bruce, was on the War Memorial in the original St Paul’s. Incidentally, on early OS map, Taymount Rise is named Queen’s Road.
