Hello, does anyone know which window the plaque in memory of Elizabeth Fox and Joseph Fox refers to (7th photo from the end of this page). Is there a picture on this site? – thankyou

      Hi

I believe it is the 2 single light windows by A.L. Moore in the south chapel. They depict Agony and Jesus carrying the cross. I don’t have a shot of them in context but the individual windows are on row 12 picture 3 and row 13 picture 1

    Thankyou for your help.

I am currently writing a book which includes Edwin Fox, he was the secretary of the church building fund and was reported as being a liberal contributor to the fund. He was also a church warden for 16 years. According to a newspaper at the time when he died a stained-glass window, depicting the resurrection of Christ, was commissioned by his widow Mary and his four sons Edwin, Charles, Joseph and Frank this was installed in the south chapel – is there a photo of this window on the site do you know?

Also is it possible to get permission to use these photos in my book?

    Thankyou

The east window of the south chapel is by an unknown maker/artist and fits in with your description as it show the three Marys at the empty sepulchre being told by an angel “He is not there he is risen”. It is the middle window on row 12. You can use my images, acknowledged but I can send you the higher resolution versions if that would be helpful.
